Well, That's Showbiz! By Louie the
Chimp/Sierra Ski News
Training for the Jay Leno Show.
Well, that’s showbiz!
I was all set to appear on the Tonight Show last
month when Jay Leno called me up and said, “Louie...would it be okay if
we pushed your appearance back to January? I hate to do this to a big
star like you, but you know how those network execs are!!! They think
it will be better for the ratings.”
I replied, “Jay baby...anything for you...no
problem-o.”
As one primate to another, I felt sorry for “old
square jaw” (as I affectionately call him). It must be tough being on
network TV. I definitely prefer the life of a movie star!!!
As you can see by the photo to the right, I have
really been shreddin’ the slopes lately. My latest favorite trick is to
zoom between the legs of unsuspecting skiers - being short definitely
has its advantages!!! The look on their faces as I rip on down the
slope is priceless. They usually yell something at me, but I kind of
lose the part after, “why you hairy little...” I’m very fast and
am usually far down the slope by then.
If you’d like updates on when I’m finally going to
be on the Leno and Letterman shows, visit the Sierra Ski News web site.
I’ll be sure to have the editor put the info up there. You can find it
at: www.sacnews.net/skinews.
And speaking of TV...I recently put in an
application to be a contestant on Survivor. For some odd reason,
however, the producers rejected it. They said something about me having
an unfair advantage. I don’t understand why! I would have loved to take
on Rupert in Survivor: Pearl Islands Panama. And I certainly would have
put that Jon character in his place!!!
My MXP: Most Xtreme Primate movie is now scheduled
to be released direct to DVD/Video on Jan. 20. Visit the official web
site at: http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/liveaction/mxp.
‘til next time - Louie
